styling the basics: white skirt
Hi, sweet Ladies (and girls) I would like to start my blogging adventure with a small series on “how-to” style the basics. In honor (just to be a little selfish) to my name, we will start with a white basic.
The white skirt, especially in summer, is versatile, fresh and comfortable, especially if it is of an “appropriate” length. I advise you not to opt for a skirt that is too short or too long because it would not be as versatile.
What we will see in the 5 different outfits is actually a “recovery” skirt. I had an old dress from Marella that I no longer used and my faithful seamstress gave a new life to it transforming into a skirt.
As you can see, I remain faithful to the principle of re-use. An enabling factor for reuse is shopping for the most classic pieces possible and not being tempted by hazards that then remain in your closet …and are difficult if not impossible to recover…. but we’ll talk about this in another post.

In this outfit, the skirt is combined with a ‘Pop’ T-shirt (from Missguided on Zalando( sold out but I found a similar one here), the belt is from Topshop similar here). The white sneakers (Adidas Superstar) are now a classic to have in the wardrobe, super versatile, these too will be the subject of a future post or video. Your comments below are welcome also for further suggestions). On the shoulders, the classic denim jacket and super white bag by Henry Bendel (sigh! The brand closed the business last here). Pay attention to the front pocket that you will see in another outfit featured in this post.

The second outfit can be a wedding or ceremony in general, look. We are approaching September and many of us will be invited to weddings or the end of summer parties. The pink shirt by Intimissimi (old collection) the turquoise lace-effect statement necklace is from a local boutique, the sandals are a dupe of classic Valentino Rockstud, very comfortable but at the same time, they are able to elevate any outfit. In the third outfit the skirt is combined with another basic: a black silk camisole with lace, black strappy sandals, and a clutch (Zara Basic sandals – keep an eye on the shoe collection because often restock – white small cardigan Stefanel – clutch by a small local boutique @drcrespins). I recommend, if you don’t already have one and you want to buy something after reading this post, the black clutch can transform any look. Thanks to Erbolario to let us shoot the photos inside the shop

The fourth look is quite simple: just switch the top and voila’…. chambray shirt and black bold sunglasses and the romantic skirt takes an edgy and modern feel.

….And to close the post a completely white look. The white strappy camisole is a staple in my wardrobe I had it from years (!) (from Oasis fashion). It is an off white, but this does not mean you cannot match it with a pure white. On the contrary, It creates texture and depth. Clutch is the front pocket of the bag you’ve seen in the first look (I cannot believe that Henry Bendel has closed its doors. In my opinion the most interesting and creative bags in the market). White strappy is from River island
I will leave you in these series the recap of the basics of the perfect wardrobe as a checklist.
